Cal Disorientation 2008

Read the 2008 Guide now! On the web or as a pdf

Welcome to the Cal Disorientation Guide project. We are UC Berkeley students, working to shape our common cultural landscape. Through this project, we aim to turn you on to what we see as astounding, important, or just fun pieces of Berkeley's past, present, and future. Find the right group to hook up with to start actively working towards a better future; read about past generations of students from their point of view; discover some great activities to do around Berkeley.

Create the future Disorientation guide -- in Fall 2008 there will be a DeCal course to produce the 2009 edition! Join up to publish your writings and art, and to learn how to be part of a publication. Contact us at <collective NOSPAM AT caldisorientation DOT org> for more information.

Universities are meant to educate whole human beings. You didn't come here just to sit in your dorm room doing homework, did you? Read on!

Previous Editions

Disorientation has been put out before, most recently in 2003 and 2004 by the good folks of the Barrington Collective. See the previous, excellent versions, which we used as a starting point, at http://barringtoncollective.org/DisorientationZine .

The Radical Student Union, funded by the ASUC, put out a magazine entitled The Uses of UC Berkeley: Research in February of 1969. Here it is, scanned. Also see The Regents, put out in 1965 by the Free Speech Movement.
